There are a few versions of this song due to Sony refusing to let Jonathan Davies do his thing. I think the best version is the one released on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack, with Chester Bennington also on vocals. But either way, the music is the same for all versions ...and here it is.
The song is played in D tuning, which is the same as standard except every string is tuned down by 2 frets:
D Tuning: Low D : G : C : F : A : D
It's a simple tune, but very cool to play. There are only 3 parts to learn!
Verse Riff - This is a short riff, constantly repeated. It works like a bass line, but is played on guitar. The riff is 32 notes, all based around the first few frets of the G and C strings (or A and D strings if you are thinking in terms of standard tuning). Use alternate picking (constant down / up strokes).
Chorus Riff - Very straightforward stuff here. Just keep repeating the following powerchords (using constant down / up strums):
A5 (16 times) - A5 (8 times) - Bb5 (5 times) - C5 (1 times) - Bb5 (2 times) - Repeat.
At the end of the choruses hold the A5. Meanwhile another guitar begins the Verse riff again underneath. For playing it all on one guitar you'll have to choose whether to switch riffs here or hold the chord and join in after a while with the Verse riff (like we show here).
Bridge - Between the 2nd and 3rd Choruses, there is a heavy bridge section. This riff is just 6 simple chords, most of which are played using 1 finger along the lowest 2 strings. It is the easiest part of the whole song!
That's all you need to play through the whole thing!
