This Backing Track is from the Jam Zone.
Let's begin with a nice easy rock backing track. Next we will be showing neat solo tricks and melodies over this Jam Track for you to learn. So before that - make sure you know this rhythm guitar part! You'll need to use plenty of gain / distortion or overdrive for that nice rock sound and sustain on the powerchords.
This is a very simple powerchord progression played over a typical rock beat. The powerchord progression is:
A5 - B5 - C5 - D5 (repeat)
Each chord is only struck once and held before moving to the next - can't get much simpler than that! Loop the ActionTab and play along with it. Concentrate on getting your timing right as you cycle through the powerchords. Once you can play along with the normal speed version, it's time to move on to the solo in the next ActionTab. We'll see how even a very simple chord progression like this can be the foundation for a whole lotta fun!
Don't forget to use this backing track to work out and experiment with your own ideas. Loop it and jam!
If you are working on building your knowledge of harmony, try out the A minor scales, C major, E minor etc with this ActionTab. These will work better than most other scales!
