This is the lead guitar for the song 'Mother' by Danzig. If you want to learn the main rhythm guitar, check out this Actiontab first. The lead guitar plays along with the rhythm guitar for most of the song. The main difference is the 2 solos, which are cool, but not beginner friendly.
Verse - This guitar doesn't play during the intro. Instead it joins in at the first verse. It actually plays an easier riff than the main rhythm guitar for the verses. Just cycle between these chords:
B5 - A5 - B5 / B5 with open E / B5 (repeat)
Just keep repeating until the chorus.
Chorus - This is played the same way as the main rhythm guitar. It is yet another variation on the same 3 verse chords. Just keep repeating this chord sequence until the end of the chorus. Finish it with palm muting this F#5 chord, then just go back to playing the verse riff again.
At the end of the second chorus, he plays the B note instead of the F#5 powerchord. This sets up the solo which follows shortly afterwards.
Solo 1 - While the rhythm guitar plays the same chords as the intro again, this lead guitar does a nice bluesy rock solo. The solo mainly uses the B minor scale. This first solo is the easier of the 2 solos in the song, but is still hard in places.
Solo 2 - The last solo is played over the outro of the song. Again it mainly uses the B minor scale, with plenty of bends. It is fast in places, and uses fingertapping. It is a very tricky solo and not suitable for the inexperienced.
