Here we see the Rhythm guitar parts for I'm Shipping Up to Boston by the Dropkick Murphys. The rhythm guitar is just nice and straightforward powerchord sections. Punk and Irish Traditional music can go great together well. The chord progressions behind a lot of Irish melodies tend to be nice and simple. This is a great example:
Intro: Turn the guitar volume down, strike D5 and gradually turn the volume up full if you wish to mimic their start precisely. Or just hit the D5.
Verse 1: Stab the E5 chord twice and then mute it. Use downstrokes for the stabs to get a slightly more edgy / powerful sound. Then finish the loop with these D5 - A5 chords. Repeat.
Verse 2: Just cycle between these chords as shown in the ActionTab: E5 - D5 - E5 - D5 - A5. Repeat.
Cycle between Verse 1 and Verse 2 twice and then the Chorus kicks in:
Choruses: D5 - C5 - B5 - D5. Keep repeating these 3 chords, and notice the slides between chords. To do that, just strike the strings as you move your hand position between powerchords and you will naturally get these slides. When it's time to end the chorus, briefly switch to playing A5 after the last B5. This bridges nicely to playing Verse 1 and 2 again.
Just play the whole lot again, and then end the song with the Outro. This is just a version of Verse 1 again. They use whammy bars, pick slides and other tricks to get the ending sounding a bit mental, feel free to do what you think works best!
