This is the main solo for Hotel California. Just like the rest of the song so far, there are actually 2 lead guitars. However, the second guitar doesn't do so much during the solo. Here we see Guitar 1 - the main lead guitar. This is the one to go for if you are playing by yourself.
It's a long solo, which can be broken into 3 main parts:
Intro - This guitar lead is actually used elsewhere in the song too. It is a harmony (Meaning Guitar 2 also plays along). It is played just before the main solo.
Cool Solo - This is the actual solo. The other lead guitar is largely absent throughout this part. The solo is based around the E natural minor scale. It's a truly great solo, but will be very difficult for beginners. If you are determined (and you should be), read on...
As with any tricky guitar licks you need to break things down into small chunks. Even just a few notes at a time. Go slowly, and get it right before building speed. When you have mastered your first 'chunk' move onto the next and do it all again. Then sew them together. The more you do this, the faster the whole thing will come together. Also, your general guitar skills will improve all round.
Otherwise, pick out the licks you particularly like and practice them. Use the Bookmark / Loop features to help you.
Outro - This sounds a bit like fingertapping in the recording, but it isn't. He's actually playing a series of chord arpeggios as shown here. An 'arpeggio' just means playing a chord note-by-note rather than strumming it. Just keep repeating the same chord sequence until the song ends.
The other lead guitar comes in again to play arpeggios too (shown here).
