Throughout the song there is a distorted guitar which plays a very simple part. This is great for beginners, and you should be able to remember all the note positions quite easily.
Verse - During the verses just alternate between the notes A and G. For the A note you can use this A note or the open A note. Both are exactly the same note, and you can use either. We mainly use the open A because it is easier to pluck an open string.
Chorus - This is also very straightforward stuff. Here the guitar just plays a series of powerchords. Just strike once and hold before moving to the next:
C5 - D5 - C5 - G - D5 - C5 - G - D5
That's all you need to play your way through the entire song. Just repeat the Verse and Chorus parts shown here!
If you are wondering, the powerchords shown here are a little unusual. He's only playing the top part of each powerchord (i.e. missing out the bass note). That's why they look a little different to the powerchords we see in most other songs. It's also why the names of the powerchords don't follow the lowest note played, but the highest note instead. That would be the octave note (if the bass note was included).
